About Me

I grew up racing in Michigan. There really isn’t much else to do in the Midwest on snow. Summers I spent waterskiing, a pastime I pursued through college in Florida, to Sea World and beyond. I eventually …

Snowbasin Dew Tour Kick Off Party gets wild... fro Utah.

The drinking laws in Utah don’t necessarily lend themselves to throwing raging parties. The beer is 3/2, shots are measured and bars close at 1:00 AM.

That did not stop the likes of Scott Hibbert, Steele Spence, Chug Life and many others from enjoying 24 oz. cups of Coors and the Ski Utah inflatable Yeti as Freeskier threw its traditional Thursday night kick-off party at Brewskis in Ogden, Utah.

This is the first time Snowbasin and the town of Ogden has hosted an event of this magnitude in our segment of the ski industry and they rolled out the red carpet, opened their doors and welcomed us warmly. Every restaurant and bar in town is hosting Dew Tour specials and enticing those in town for the event to come check out the local flavor, which is exactly what Cory, Casey, Marie and the rest of the Brewskis crew did for us.

The Ski Utah boys brought the giant Yeti who was holding down the fort in our VIP section of the establishment and we propped up a photo background to which Shay Will snapped some pics of the guests. Justin from Coors made the shindig and loaded the bar up with plenty of Coors for the thirsty party-goers.

As the night progressed, and more and more plastic cups stacked up, a few Ogden locals graced us with their presence. Complete with a Jersey Shore girl fight with boyfriends having to restrain them. Now, for one of the most unbelievable things I have seen in my short life…

Just as the cat fight was heating up, the speakers responded with the all-time classic tune, “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. I know this song is great. I know it is loved. But I was unprepared for the power this song can exude. The locals who had been watching and cheering on this girl-brawl suddenly stopped, stepped up on chairs and belted out the entire song in unison start to finish, thus ending in one fell song, the potential knock-down, black-eye, bloody-nosed fight that was brewing. There was crowd surfing, fist pumping and general organized and fun-filled mayhem. My cue to bounce.

Big thanks to all the sponsors, Ski Utah, Coors, Hestra, Burgess Custom, ATomic, Armada, Rip Curl, Go Pro and the fans of partying with Freeksier.
