The Antimatter line has been making headlines since January, long before it ever landed in stores. If you watched Ben Richards dominate on the Freeride World Tour, you know what we’re talking about. Replacing the brand’s directionally inclined Declivity line, the 114 was designed to maintain a directional disposition while adding playful attributes that better align with Armada’s freestyle roots.

The core is constructed with stout wood and metal reinforcement that stiffens the center. Throughout the body of the ski, you’ll find three different flexes: The tip is mid-stiff, the center is stiff and the tail is the least stiff of the three. This flex pattern is complemented by the skis’ rocker profile with low, long rocker in the tip, camber underfoot and short, but significant tail rocker. This construction and profile set up this ski to thrive at high speeds while offering a surfy, loose feel when releasing a turn.

The 114 is Max Palm’s pro model, so these unique construction choices make sense. For years, Palm has been at the forefront of freeride progression, bringing his unique freestyle background into consequential terrain. This ski wants to be skied with vigor down steep, technical faces but has the soft tip and tail to ski switch, make quick changes of direction and throw tricks off any natural feature that catches your eye. This is a tool for those who spend a lot of time skiing fast and fluid through fresh snow.
