The 2026 Völkl Blaze 104 serves as the brand’s playful all-mountain option that bridges the gap between the pure freestyle focus of the Revolt series and the directional stability of the Mantra line. At the end of the day, the Blaze prioritizes accessibility over pure power.
The Blaze 104 replaced the previous Blaze 106, gaining an edge-to-edge Titanal plate underfoot and updated 4D radius sidecut while trimming 2 mm off the waist. These changes, along with a tweaked tip shape and updated core construction, make it more capable on hardpack and in variable conditions than its predecessor while maintaining the lightweight, easy-skiing character that won the 106 its popularity. The moderate 17-meter turn radius contributes to its versatility, allowing for adaptable turn shapes across all terrain types.
The full wood core with carbon stringers creates moderate stiffness with a progressive flex pattern: softer in the tip for smooth turn initiation while maintaining support underfoot and in the tail. The substantial tip rocker and moderate tail rocker allow for intuitive handling in variable conditions, and the 104 mm waist strikes a better balance between soft snow capability and hardpack performance than the wider 106 it replaced.
What distinguishes the Blaze is how much versatility it packs into a lightweight package. At around 1,750 grams per ski, it weighs significantly less than most 104 mm all-mountain skis while still handling everything from groomers to powder to technical terrain—a combination that’s rare in this category. It still excels as a sidecountry or backcountry option, with sufficient float and stability for unpredictable conditions. For strong skiers who want versatile capabilities without the weight penalty, the Blaze 104 delivers.
