The Citadell Mountain kit borrows key aspects from Columbia's rainwear line, making it an excellent choice for skiers who spend much of the winter in wetter coastal climates. The brand's OutDry Extreme technology places the waterproof, breathable membrane on the exterior of the jacket, rather than on a face fabric with a DWR coating. In this case, the exposed membrane is the first line of defense and sheds moisture before it has a chance to soak into the face fabric and waterlog the kit.

From the outside, the slick aesthetic certainly looks a bit different but it's built with all the features a powder hound needs. Full seam-taping adds further moisture protection and both the jacket and bib have drawcords to adjust the hems before charging into a storm.
