Consistently ranked as one of the most popular freeride chargers on the market, the M-Free 112 returns unchanged for 2027, save for the flashy new topsheet and base graphics. This ski is defined by its planted, robust feel, contrasted by a playful shape and profile that make it one of the more powerful freeride skis in the powder category.
The engine of the ski, dubbed Hybrid Core 2.0, combines PU and wood to create a mid-stiff flex with a noticeably smooth, powerful personality. Much of that feel comes from the thick core and a polymer that absorbs kinetic energy, rather than returning it to the ski as wood or carbon would. Instead of opting for a directional shape and flat tail, Dynastar gave the M-Free long rocker lines in the tip and tail, a shallow sidecut and slight tail taper. The result is a ski that encourages smearing over carving, favoring longer, drawn out turns when put on edge.
At 112 mm underfoot, this ski is happy in fresh snow and even happier once the powder gets chopped up. It plows through tracked conditions, as long as you stay in the driver’s seat. Among twin-tip powder skis, this is one of the more aggressive options, craving to be driven through the tips by a skier who values stability and control in technical terrain, whether that’s making quick direction changes in a couloir or dropping large features. This ski won’t fold on big impacts and it wants to be skied fast through variable terrain, but it rewards a skier who is willing to command it while still taking advantage of its ample tip and tail rocker.
