Completely redesigned for 2026, the mid-waisted ski from the brand's Charge collection receives the same Completely redesigned for 2027, this powerful, mid-waisted ski from J's Charge Collection is now lighter and more approachable while preserving the potent personality that has made it a flagship of the brand.

The Masterblaster was originally conceived as a modern evolution of the iconic Line Prophet, which was developed during Jason Levinthal's time at Line Skis. Both skis shared the same philosophy: Bring the precision of a race-inspired ski to a wider platform, without a punishing or overly demanding feel. More than two decades after the Prophet's debut, J is continuing to refine that concept and the 3027 Masterblaster is, in our opinion, the best expression yet.

At the heart of the ski is a lightweight wood core paired with a Titanal laminate that spans the center two-thirds of the ski. With no metal in the tip and tail, the swing weight is reduced and the result is a ski that feels remarkably nimble for how powerful it is. A lighter fiberglass layup and thinner edges continue to trim mass, while a deeper sidecur, slightly narrower waist and refined flex pattern improve the ski's engagement entering and exiting a turn.

On snow, the Masterblaster strikes an impressive balance between power and responsiveness. It delivers the strong edge hold and the high-speed confidence you'd expect from a directional charger, but without demanding the constant effort required by many skis in this category. It feels more energetic than punishing, making it easier to carve hard, weave through trees and navigate bumps without sacrificing the damp, trustworthy ride that has always defined the Masterblaster. Simply put, it's one of the most approachable all-mountain chargers we've skied.
