Building on last season’s complete overhaul of the Nomad collection, the 2026 Icelantic Nomad 112 continues to showcase the dramatic improvements that marked the most comprehensive redesign in the brand’s history.
The engineering approach behind the Nomad 112 emphasizes pop and playfulness over brute force. Icelantic surrounds a wood core with four carbon fiber reinforcement strips placed above and below the wood to generate energy return, providing a more engaging skiing experience than the previous Nomad 115. This combination produces great snap for natural booters and pillow lines while preserving a supple feel in deep snow. Redesigned tip and tail profiles further minimize swing weight, making pow turns and spins feel effortless.
In its natural habitat of deep snow, the Nomad 112 demonstrates excellent float characteristics thanks to its long early rocker profile and balanced tip-to-tail dimensions. In the center of the ski, a good-sized camber section adds stability to this otherwise soft platform.
When faced with wind-scoured or heavily tracked conditions, the Nomad 112 reveals its soft-snow bias. Skiers prioritizing high-speed stability in variable terrain will find more confidence on a ski with a stiffer construction or more aggressive edge hold, but the Nomad 112 never claims to excel in these conditions.
This ski thrives as a specialized instrument for expert-level skiers who emphasize surfing through pow over raw power, embodying Icelantic’s commitment to playful performance in this model.
