Weighing only 590 grams, Ortovox’s Shovel Beast PC balances the need for lightweight ski touring with the necessity of avalanche safety gear, given its ability to assemble and move snow quickly and efficiently. Its shovel blade is hollowed in sections to reduce weight while the telescopic shaft packs down small, making an overall lightweight design for everyday backcountry skiers.
