Brand new last season, the 2026 Scott Sea 116 maintains the same innovative design as Scott’s widest all-mountain offering and its primary freeride powder platform. The ski features a substantial poplar core with strategic Titanal strips underfoot and carbon reinforcement, creating a robust foundation that balances freestyle capabilities in a powder ski that still remains relatively soft compared to others in this class. Testing revealed its powder-focused character, with the pronounced rocker profile and the substantial 116 mm waist providing effortless float.
The elliptical sidecut and moderate taper create intuitive steering in deep snow because the tip doesn’t grab aggressively and initiate turns too quickly like a traditional sidecut would. Special 3D shaping zones in the tip and tail create a spoon shape that helps the ski pivot and float seamlessly, making it more maneuverable and playful in powder while allowing for smoother transitions between turns.
What separates the Sea 116 from similar competitors is its practical performance range. When powder turns to chop or when facing inevitable runouts, the ski maintains composure where many powder specialists feel unstable. It excels on technical descents with the ability to make jump turns and maintain edge-to-edge reliability through the inevitable choppy bumps you’re going to experience as a powder day wanes. The Sea 116 thrives in open bowls, glades and anywhere offering fresh snow, while performing surprisingly well on connecting terrain. This isn’t just for laid-back pow turns. The Sea 116 has real backbone and should be skied with intentional power.
Built for advanced to expert powder seekers, the Sea 116 adds freestyle flair to big mountain adventures. It remains reliable on groomers when moving from zone to zone at the resort, just not with as much versatility as its narrower 106 mm cousin.
