Last year, Salomon added the Shift Alpha BOA to its hybrid backcountry boot collection. This year, the brand introduces the Alpha’s big brother, the Shift Supra BOA 130. Skiers with wider feet can rejoice, as this boot boasts a 100-106-mm last and presents a strong and versatile hybrid offering.

This hybrid designation centers on the boot’s spine system, which Salomon calls Twin-Lock. The system consists of an easy access lever that releases the boot’s cuff from an independent spine and lower shell. This provides 55 degrees of ankle articulation for a smooth uphill experience. When locked, it connects the cuff to the boot’s free spine and lower shell, delivering strong downhill performance.

Beyond the unique walk mode, classic toe and heel tech inserts are compatible with both pin and hybrid bindings like the Salomon Shift. The lower shell features the popular BOA fit system, which utilizes a ratcheting dial and metal cable to wrap the shell precisely around your foot without producing any pressure points. Completing the package is a fully heat-moldable liner and shell  for straightforward customization. Plus, the boot’s design allows for easy disassembly, enabling bootfitters to address very specific fit issues.

The Salomon Shift Supra BOA 130 is an exceptional choice for skiers who want to excel both in bounds and in the backcountry, without compromising either experience.
