New for 2027, Rossignol’s Soul 92 is a versatile frontside ride for skiers who spend most of their time cruising groomers, while occasionally dipping into the trees and moguls. This ski boasts a similar shape to its wider sibling, the Soul 102, but with a softer flex. It has a directional shape with a touch of tail rocker and moderate tip rocker, making it manageable for intermediate skiers and, overall, less aggressive than the 102.
On firmer snow and groomed runs, its shape provides a traditional feel that rewards skiers who like to make smooth turns. Rolling from edge to edge produces easy, confident arcs. When you want to scrub some speed, the tails release a bit more easily than other skis in this category. That balance makes the 92 a comfortable option for skiers who hop between carving laps, tree runs and mogul bashing. This versatility is complemented by Rossignol’s exceptionally light tip and tail, furthering the 92’s ability to pivot in tighter terrain. Throughout our testing, the ski handled changing conditions fairly well; in choppy or refrozen snow, the tips could feel a little chattery at times, but this a tradeoff for having a very approachable ski. When the snow softened into corn, the ride became noticeably more relaxed, allowing for easy slashes and smears as it opened up across the fall line.
The Soul 92 prefers to be skied with intention and responds best when driven through turns, but it does ski shorter than its listed length. Strong skiers who are looking for additional stability should consider sizing up.Â
