The Hotshot | 2027

Jason Levinthal (aka "J") is the mad scientist who created one of the first twin-tip skis in his parents' garage back in the 90s. The Hotshot rolled out of J's laboratory with high-energy maneuverability that excels in a variety of conditions and is happiest off piste.

While the Hotshot has been in the J Skis lineup for a while now, the newest iteration is part of the brand's Charge Collection and comes in significantly lighter (240 g less) than its predecessor. The lighter fiberglass laminates and an aspen wood core replace the maple used in previous models. All of these elements combine to deliver an ultra-low swing weight, providing incredible control through tight trees and technical terrain.

Sporting a wide shovel, with tip and tail rocker and a 104-mm waist, the Hotshot is the widest ski in the collection, making it a great choice when the snow starts stacking up. Narrow strips of metal underfoot provide damping and stability when cruising on corduroy.

The Hotshot is an excellent representation of J's ski-making philosophy. It's a pleasure to navigate around the mountain—buttering turns, crushing crud, floating through pow and charging on groomers.
