Skis Big Mountain - Directional Big Mountain Backcountry Mens 106-109 (BM) Unisex

The widest offering in Kästle’s dedicated touring line, the TX107 returns for 2026 after an 11-year hiatus. At 1,570 grams per ski in the 185 cm length, this ski is light enough for your longest days in the great beyond. The TX107 sets itself apart by maximizing performance thanks to its efficient construction rather than relying on sheer mass. While it doesn’t carry the mass of a resort-focused ski, it more than holds its own through crud and soaks up chatter better than other skis in its weight class.

Constructed with a paulownia and poplar wood core wrapped with a blend of carbon and fiberglass, the TX107 crushes ascents and provides a snappy, planted platform on the downhill. When paired with its nearly tip-to-tail traditionally cambered profile, you recieve  a ton of edge grip, which you’ll feel when arcing big turns through ripe spring corn.

This ski likes to go fast. Drive it from the front seat, lock it into a turn and let the supportive tail steer it all the way into a strong and clean finish. Because of its traditional directional shape, it skis every bit of its stated length. If you prefer a more playful twin-tip shape, the TX107 probably isn’t for you, as this ski really shines crushing variable conditions on tall peaks miles from nowhere.

If you’re a directional skier who values precision, predictability and speed in the backcountry, this ski deserves a spot in your quiver.
