The all-new Blaze 104 represents an evolution in Völkl’s all-mountain Blaze collection. Lessening the emphasis on backcountry touring and essentially replacing the Blaze 106, this ski is finely tuned for resort ripping. Whether knifing morning groomers, seeking out stashes in the trees or floating in fresh powder, this trusty companion delivers a good time, every time.
The Blaze 104 carves a very precise turn on the groomers, with minimal tip chatter, and maintains the responsiveness and easy turn initiation that you would expect from narrower models. While not as hard-charging as Völkl’s Mantra series, it achieves a pleasant balance between stability and agility presented in a more approachable package.
Völkl’s 4 Radius Drive technology enhances predictability, particularly in the tip, ensuring a more responsive ride. The Suspension Tip and Tail with TPU inserts further enhance stability, particularly in variable snow conditions.
Combining Völkl’s Green Core construction with a recycled base material and FSC-certified wood adds an environmentally friendly factor.
With its lightweight construction and quick maneuverability, the Blaze 104 lights up in bumps and trees. The ski boasts a nice amount of stiffness underfoot, thanks to a Titanal binding plate, but remains forgiving and easy to navigate through tight lines. This ski rewards good technique while offering a degree of forgiveness, making it suitable for skiers looking to push their higher limits. When it comes to mixed snow and powder, the Blaze 104 floats quite well, thanks to its wide, tapered tip.
