Ski Between Two Canadian Provinces at One Resort
Banff Sunshine Village sits right on the continental divide, which means you can ski in two Canadian provinces (British Columbia and Alberta) in one day. Also thanks to its location, Banff Sunshine Village receives an annual average snowfall of 360-plus inches of "Prosecco Powder" to sink your skis into. With over 3,300 skiable acres across three mountains, there's something to uncover around every corner.
Your Guide to Skiing Banff
Set within Canada’s oldest national park, Banff is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and it also happens to have some of the best skiing in the world. Sitting at 4,537 feet above sea level, this real life snowglobe gets around 30 feet of annual snowfall and boasts one of the longest non-glacial resort seasons in North America, stretching seven months from early November through May.

Getting There
Getting to Banff is easy! Flying into Calgary International Airport, you're just a 90-minute drive away on a four-lane highway with no traffic lights and very little traffic. It never gets old watching the mountains grow as you head toward Banff National Park.
The easiest way to book your trip is through SkiBig3.com, where you can get full vacation packages and discounts for Ikon or Mountain Collective passholders. Pro tip: The earlier you buy, the more you save.
Banff Airporter runs 11 shuttles from the airport per day and will drop you at your hotel door for about $50-70 CAD. Once you’re in Banff, the free SkiBig3 shuttle system connects Banff to each resort.
Three Mountains, Endless Fun
Canadian ski resorts are often regarded for their gnarly, inbounds terrain, which Banff Sunshine certainly has, but that's not all it has to offer. With over 3,358 skiable acres spread across three mountains, Banff Sunshine Village has a little bit for everyone. From families and beginners looking to slice through fresh corduroy on cruisey groomers, to high-speed chasers and steel-feature enthusiasts, Banff Sunshine Village is the place to please everyone. 12 lifts serve 137 trails, of which 55-percent are catered to intermediate skiers and with an average of 30 feet of light and dry snow every years, powder days are plentiful.
The Strawberry Express and Standish lifts take you to fantastic intermediate terrain and the village area has wide-open slopes that are perfect for building confidence. From there, test your skills on Goat’s Eye Mountain with a mix of groomers and off-piste options, including the South Side chutes. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, Banff Sunshine's Delirium Dive and Wild West zones have earned respect from the industry for its committing terrain. You need an avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe and a buddy, which should tell you what you need to know about this zone.
Planning Your Trip
Thanks to the free shuttle from the town of Banff, skiing at Banff Sunshine Village, as well as Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise, is a cinch. And with one pass to ski all three, Banff is a no-brainer for your next ski vacation.
