Skiing at Breckenridge
Breck is divided into 5 unique peaks. You can think of these peaks as different skiing zones, each providing its own diverse terrain. They also make the mountain extremely wide, and while Breckenridge is slightly smaller than its neighbor Vail, it doesn't feel like it as everyone is spread out across the mountain. This means short lift lines and numerous days' worth of terrain to explore.
For advanced skiers seeking chutes and technical bowl skiing, we recommend taking the Imperial SuperChair to the top of Peak 8, then taking a short hike to the looker's left to access the Lake Chutes or hiking to the looker's right to access the wide-open Whale's Tail Bowl, which eventually connects to the bowls below Peak 7. The top of Peak 6 provides incredible above-treeline skiing for intermediate skiers, with three primary blue runs accessible right off the lift—perfect for gaining confidence in the high alpine. If high-alpine skiing isn't your preference, we recommend heading to Peak 10 for advanced glade skiing or Peaks 9 or 7 for wide-open groomers and intermediate tree skiing.
Planning Your Trip
Breckenridge is known for its high-elevation skiing and five designated inbound peaks, which provide some of the best above-treeline skiing in Colorado. After skiing, take a stroll down Main Street, which is lined with colorful Victorian-style buildings and numerous places to grab a bite to eat.
