Beast of the East
With over 1,500 skiable acres spread across six different mountain peaks and a vertical rise of over 3,000 vertical feet from the base to the summit, Killington is the largest resort on the East Coast. 22 lifts serve the 155 trails and an average of 250 inches of snow falls on the Killington Resort mountains every year. To bolster its snow offerings, Killington blows artificial snow on 600 of those skiable acres to ensure there's always a frozen surface to slide on. Although, this is the ice coast, so sharpen your edges and be prepared for anything.

Skiing at Killington
With as much terrain and skiable acreage as Killington, it's a guarantee that there is something for everyone. Families will find ski school options if you're looking for a professional to teach your kids the basics but if everyone wants to stick together, the mountain's most gentle terrain is found around the Ramshead and Snowshed base areas. Freestyle skiers have a ton of variety to choose from as well with six terrain parks and a modified 18-foot halfpipe. If you're looking for the perfect pitch to lay down a clean arc, The Great Eastern is often groomed from top to bottom for high-speed laps. Cruise Control is another fan favorite for practicing your best Mikaela Shiffrin impression and Juggernaut runs for nearly six miles.
Expert skiers tend to gravitate to the Bear Mountain zone of the mountain. Here you'll find the famous moguls run Outer Limits, which is the steepest in the East, along with Devil's Fiddle, Growler and Centerpiece for a heavy dose of double black diamonds. Off of Killington Peak, Catwalk is a spicy hike-to piece of terrain that will test the most daring of skiers and Vertigo off of Skye Peak is the steepest non-gladed trail at the entire resort. An annual host of the FIS World Cup Ski Racing circuit, Killington has a lot of big, long and challenging terrain for the hungriest of skiers.
Planning Your Trip
As the largest ski resort in the east, Killington is the best place for families and mixed groups to all enjoy the mountain. Tucked up in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Killington offers trails rated for everyone from complete beginners to eager experts and a peak elevation over 4,000 feet above sea level, the mountain tends to be favored in snow storms.
