Not Another I-70 Resort
Although Winter Park is only 90 minutes from Denver, the resort tends to doge a lot of the I-70 chaos thanks to its location on the other side of Berthoud Pass. The base of Winter Park sits at 9,000 feet, which produces consistent Colorado cold smoke for bottomless powder days season after season. Although the large majority of the resort's terrain is suited for more advanced skiers, Winter Park offers plenty of beginner and intermediate terrain throughout the 3,000 skiable acres for everyone to enjoy.

Skiing at Winter Park Resort
Skiing at Winter Park Resort is classic Colorado skiing, big and beautiful. Although Winter Park is easily accessible from Denver, the drive over Berthoud Pass tends to keep crowds under reasonable control and the elevation of the resort—9,000 feet above sea level at the base—ensures powder days all season every season. The majority of Winter Park is rated as advanced but the terrain varies throughout the mountain, meaning you can find green and blue trails off of a lot of the same chairs that you can find black diamond trails. The grooming at Winter Park is impeccable and the consistent pitch makes on-piste skiing fast and fun.
Beyond the groomed trails, Winter Park offers seven different terrain park areas for everyone to enjoy—a kids zone for groms and beginners all the way up to a halfpipe and jib park. If you're seeking thrills on natural terrain, Winter Park's Mary Jane zone is almost exclusively advanced terrain with steep bump runs and gladed zones that'll leave your legs and lungs screaming.
Planning Your Trip
With a village at the base of the resort and the town of Fraser just five minutes down the road, Winter Park is your one-stop ski destination. The mountain itself offers plenty of skiing for every ability and style across its massive 3,000 skiable acres and the views at 12,060 feet will literally and figuratively take your breath away.
Getting There
If you're flying to Colorado, Denver International Airport is your destination city. From there, Winter Park Resort is only 90 miles from the airport and there are multitude ways to get there. Renting a car is the most independent route but the Winter Park airport shuttle service is available for a more budget-friendly option.
If you're looking for more of an adventure, the Winter Park Express is just whisks you up the mountain from Denver's Union Station. Plane to train, Denver's lightrail system takes you from the airport to Union Station so you never need a car. Fares for the Winter Park Express start at $9.
