The freeski event of the summer, the 2026 Scandinavian Team Battle, was bigger than ever last week, drawing record attendance and crowning new champions. Over 1,000 people gathered at Copenhagen's CopenHill for the team-based competition and legendary after-party.

Six countries were represented, each boasting teams of two skiers. This was the most international representation ever assembled for the Scandi Team Battle. And a few of our favorite riders came to compete. From Jesper Tjäder to Harald Hellström, there was no shortage of talent.

The fan-favorite open qualifier jam also returned after its debut last summer. Dozens of skiers poured into CopenHill to throw their hat in the ring with the pros on a mini course before the main event. Copenhagen local Anton Frandsen and Norway's Ola Gullstein snatched the spots, pitting them against the best of the best.

🇸🇪 TEAM SWEDEN: Jesper Tjäder & Oliver Movenius

🇳🇴 TEAM NORWAY: Robert Ruud & Mikkel BK

🇩🇰 TEAM DENMARK: Jakob Ebskamp & Gorm Garth-Grüner

🇫🇮 TEAM FINLAND: Harald Hellström & Anni Kärävä

🇬🇧 TEAM UNITED KINGDOM: Chris McCormick & Tom Greenway

🇨🇦 TEAM CANADA: Max Moffat & Mark Hendrickson

TEAM QUALIFIER: Anton Frandsen & Ola Gullstein

The weather was variable, but that didn't deter anyone. Both competitors and fans stuck around for the event, resulting in an electric atmosphere. Each team dropped as a pair, looking to stack the most creative line and impress the judges.

It was a tight battle, with run after run producing standout moments, strong performances and creative riding from Canada's Max Moffat, Denmark's Jakob Ebskamp and Norway's Robert Ruud. But it was Norway that slid into the top spot, ousting Sweden after years of dominance. The Norweigans Ruud and Mikkel BK descended the course with glee after the announcement.

"The event grows year by year," said Ebskamp, both a Team Denmark competitor and the Team Battle organizer. "Seeing both the Danish and international ski community come together like this is incredibly motivating. The support, energy and progression we see every season inspires us to make next year's event even bigger and better."
