Leki's new Detect Vario TR XL is a pole that earns its keep on both sides of the rope. It adjusts from 110 to 140 centimeters, meaning one pair covers the skin track, the bootpack and the run out. The burly, foam grip extension allows you to choke down on it for steep bootpacks and then run it out to full length for sidecountry skates, which always take longer than your friend promised.
The grip runs Trigger S, a slightly toned-down version of Leki's Trigger 3D, with a detachable strap that lets you sport any glove while benefiting from the built-in, detachable trigger mechanism.
