Lange’s new Code 130 boot represents an intriguing evolution for one of skiing’s most respected boot brands. Known for producing high-performance alpine boots, Lange blends that heritage with modern in and out-of-bounds versatility and a BOA-driven fit.
On the mountain, it stays true to Lange’s DNA. Power transfer feels immediate and the flex pattern delivers reliable support without feeling excessively beefy. This is thanks to an internal spoiler, which creates a fixed-cuff feel and guarantees optimal power transmission, with an external bar with friction-free walking. This external bar pairs with an elastomer insert at the shell interface to create exceptional progressive flex in a boot with a walk mode.
On the way up, a 54-degree range of motion in walk mode combined with GripWalk soles successfully bridges the gap between traditional alpine performance and modern freetour expectations. Most importantly, the Code never loses the powerful, connected sensation Lange loyalists expect. For aggressive skiers seeking race-inspired performance paired with backcountry-ready features, the Lange Code 130 BOA shapes up to be a very compelling offering.
