Columbia
0The Platinum Peak™ II 3L is the kit of choice for X Games gold medalist Alex Ferreira and is a no-nonsense solution for anybody looking for understated styling and solid protection on the hill. It employs Columbia’s proprietary Omni-Tech™ breathable and waterproof membrane, made of 100-percent recycled polyester, and comes fully seam-sealed to lock out bone-chilling wind and moisture. “I’m always looking for a good balance of style and technical performance from my gear,” says Ferreira. “I think Columbia really hit the nail on the head this year.”
The jacket’s generous underarm vents open wide to expel heat, while a drop tail and helmet-compatible hood provide extra coverage on both ends for stormy days. The pant allows for a bit of personal preference, with adjustable tabs and belt loops, as well as an included set of removable suspenders. Add to that the articulated knee construction and stretchy properties of the fabric, and you’ve got a recipe for comfort and performance.
