Where we’re going, we don’t need roads. But we do need radios. When cell service drops, the Mountain Radio keeps your crew in close contact. It runs on license-free FRS channels at the maximum power the FCC allows without paperwork, which works out to one to five miles in typical backcountry terrain.
A thermoplastic housing and shatterproof LED screen handle the impacts and weather that come with winter pursuits, and the lithium-ion battery delivers for up to five days, even in frigid temps. The controls are easy to use with gloves on and a legit carabiner comes standard, for clipping to a pack. If you want to spoil yourself, add the low-profile hand mic (sold separately) so the radio can live inside your pack while the mic stays in reach.
