The Tracker S Beacon has been updated with a new lightweight, low-profile design. The beacon uses three AAA alkaline batteries and weighs just over five ounces, in a package that is 11-percent smaller in volume than previous Tracker S models.
If disaster strikes, turn the device on to Big Picture Mode to see an approximate distance and direction from your location to the buried victims' transceiver. A close-proximity indicator alerts you when you're near a victim, so you can mark their location and start searching for others while the rest of your crew can begin digging.
When transmit and search modes are used separately, the device can last up to 250 hours in transmit mode or 50 hours in search mode. If both modes need to be used in a single trip, the device can search for up to one hour after 200 hours in transmit mode.
