I was in grand targhee WY. for the first annual Jr. big mountain compettition. It was my first time ever skiing out of utah and i was super stoked. You know that new snow new mountain feeling. the first day was our day to check out the venues and it was way too cloudy to even see 20 feet ahead of you.
the second day it was a perfect bluebird pow day this was our first run the qualifyer. goiong down the venue was awesome the were awesome little tree hits. and there was this cliff about 15 feet i was looking at.I ended up not hitting it, though it was still in my mind. i got through the qualifyer with a 5th place. i was determined to to try harder and get a better score for the second venue.
The next day was the preliminary and finals. my preliminary run was great. I got some fresh pow for a couple turns and a steller cliff with a pow landing. i end up being toward the end of the run and there is a little drop. maybe its about ten feet. i drop it pull an iron cross back scratcher. it thows me foward as i drop i land right on my tips. right then i was thinking just pull it off and it will go good. i fall loose one ski and im done.
