Deer Valley Expansion Continues with Lift Tower Installation

Deer Valley welcomed Park City locals during the resort's latest Expanded Excellence: Future in Flight event the other day, with residents coming to watch construction crews carefully install new lift towers for the Revelator Express chairlift. The daring task required helicopters to lift and place 16 towers in total.

The new lift is an engineering marvel; just one of many completed over the last year as Deer Valley continues to grow in historic fashion. In total, the Revelator Express boasts 16 Towers, 86 Chairs and 8,165 feet of spliced rope, with a slope length of 4,000 feet and a vertical rise of 1,556 feet.

"Helicopters placing the lifts for our new Revelator Express lift was an unforgettable sight for our guests this past weekend, and it was an important milestone we were proud to share with them," said Todd Bennett, Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer.

"With three months to go until Opening Day," Bennett continued, "our focus remains on our terrain expansion which will give guests access to new, never-before-skied landscapes this winter season."

The Expanded Excellence expansion project, which will double the amount of skiable terrain at Deer Valley, will be the largest ski area expansion in history once complete. The new terrain will include 100 runs since the start of last season, with 80 new runs expected to be preppared for this winter. The resort is currently in the process of finishing seven new lifts this summer, with crews working hard to finish before temperatures drop.

If all is completed on time, this will bring Deer Valley into a league of its own.
