STORM DROPS UP TO 10 INCHES ON ASPEN/SNOWMASS

November 28, 2007

What many weather forecasters were calling a small disturbance dropped up to 10 inches of snow on the upper slopes of Aspen/Snowmass. The upper slopes of Snowmass were blanketed by 10 inches overnight, and Aspen Mountain saw six inches fall.

With the new snow and cold temperatures allowing non-stop snowmaking, crews are opening more terrain today at Snowmass, and are working hard to get new trails open on both mountains by the weekend.

Aspen/Snowmass will once again host the best women ski racers in the world Dec. 7-9, during the 2007 Aspen Winternational FIS Women"â„¢s World Cup. This year"â„¢s event will feature both speed and technical races, including the first women"â„¢s downhill in Aspen in nearly 20 years, along with super G and slalom races. The races will be the focal point of a weekend packed with additional events including a Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert, gondola plaza festivals, fireworks and parties.
