For six evenings this October and November, Blizzard is ditching the classic ski movie premiere tour and offering something different. Starting on October 28, the Moving Gallery will bring together skiing, art, music and beer to celebrate the full launch of Blizzard's new Canvas collection. The best part: you can attend for free by signing up in advance.

At the center of the Moving Gallery, you'll find the artwork of Penelope Misa , the artist responsible for the topsheets of each Canvas ski. The intricate graphic features a monotype screen print, crafted in black & white and impossible to replicate.

FREESKIER caught up with Misa last fall ahead of our full story on Canvas , featured in Issue 28.2. As a multi-faceted artist given full creative liberty, she had options at her disposal. Explaining why monotyping was the perfect choice, she said, "Woodcut, screenprint and lithography all allow you to reproduce nearly unlimited prints. By contrast, a monotype is a unique, one-of-a-kind print, where the image cannot be recreated." It was the perfect nod to the ethos surrounding the Canvas collection.

Each stop will feature artwork from Misa, on the Canvas 100, 108 and 118, as well as in displays around the gallery. Plus, you'll get to chat with Blizzard's freeride athletes, grab a free beverage, enter a giveaway or two, get lost in amazing artwork and maybe even walk away with a free pair of skis.

The Moving Gallery marks the latest in a long line of recent novel ideas from Blizzard Tecnica. From the new Decoy Pro boot to the Canvas collection, to a reinstated emphasis on creativity and a growing freeride team, it would be a mistake for other brands not to take a page out of Blizzard's handbook.

Blizzard rider , Utah-based artist and two-time Queen of Corbet's, Piper Kunst, is one of many team members stoked on the brand's direction. "Not many brands are offering something like [The Moving Gallery], which makes it really special," Kunst told FREESKIER. "It's a great middle ground, where we're blending skiing and art to give the larger community a reason to gather. I like to think of it as a new version of the classic ski movie premier. Whether you're a skier or not, I think you'll enjoy it just the same."

Her point is valid. For freeskiing to thrive, events that serve the culture and brands, while simultaneously welcoming outsiders, are a necessity. The Moving Gallery aims to do just that.
