$20,000 goes to Léo Taillefer for the wildest GoPro ski video of the year

August 16, 2016

Skiing madman Léo Taillefer just won $20,000 for the second year in a row through GoPro’s Line of the Winter contest.

The contest stacked up skiers and snowboarders from all over the globe who submitted GoPro videos throughout January, February, March and April. Each month, a winner was crowned and awarded $1,000, but only one would prevail as the overall champion. Léo’s April submission (see below) ultimately earned him the victory, preserving his undefeated streak. (The Line of the Winter contest is only in its second year and he has won both thus far).

While this news is absolutely exciting, it’s not exactly surprising because—believe it or not—Léo won the February, March and April contests. He did share the win with Blaine Gallivan in March, but clearly that didn’t affect his long-term dominance in the end.
