It ain't over 'till it's over! Arapahoe Basin, known for often having one of the longest lift-powered ski seasons in North America, has postponed closing day until May 10. After receiving 14 inches over the last seven days and cold temperatures at high elevations, the resort is inclined to keep the season going.

A-Basin will remain closed during the week, reopening for riding from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10. With the kind of winter the West has had, you've got to take everything you can get! Closing day was originally scheduled for May 3, so the impromptu bonus weekend is a welcome surprise.

"After receivingĀ 14Ā inches of snow over the last week,Ā we’veĀ decided to do the most A-Basin thing we know how to do:Ā notĀ give up on this thing," said Communications Manager Shayna Silverman.

Making clean turns at 11,000 feet in May is incredible, but there are other incentives to get you up to The Basin as well. Lift tickets will be just $39 through closing day. Yes, $39. Black Mountain Express and Lenawee will both be spinning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, with an early opening at 8:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. There will be live music at the base all weekend, and up to 40% off items at the shop.

And truthfully, if you haven't had a Bloody Mary at The Sixth Alley in May under the sun, this is a damn good time to change it. Mother Nature is throwing us a bone at the end of the year, so get after it! We'll see you at Arapahoe Basin's 2026 closing day.
