Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., November 9, 2010 "“ Quintessential 90"™s rock band, Blind Melon "“ known for their widely popular hit No Rain "“ will inaugurate this season"™s Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series at the base of Aspen Mountain on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.
The band"™s 1993 self-titled album established Blind Melon in the alternative rock scene. The band has continued to make music releasing their last single, For My Friends, in 2008. Blind Melon is best-known for their No Rain music video featuring the "bee girl," which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmVn6b7DdpA.
The Aspen Winternational Women"™s World Cup Awards will be held following the concert and fireworks over Aspen Mountain will conclude the evening"™s festivities at 8 p.m.
"Blind Melon is the perfect band to kick off the season, our Bud Light Hi-Fi series and to celebrate the world"™s fastest women skiers racing once again in our hometown for the Aspen Winternational World Cup race," says John Rigney, VP Sales & Events, Aspen Skiing Company.
The Bud Light beer garden will be open and additional specials will be offered at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola during the festivities.
Aspen Winternational 2010
The world"™s fastest women skiers will once again take Aspen Mountain by storm over Thanksgiving weekend with the Aspen Winternational Audi FIS Alpine World cup races. Spectators are invited to the base of Lift 1A on Aspen Mountain to enjoy prime viewing of the finish line from the grandstands. The Giant Slalom will take place on Saturday, November 27 and the Slalom on Sunday, November 28. Television coverage by NBC and Versus will capture the excitement that embodies World Cup racing.
