Sun Valley locals Axel Peterson and Colter Brehmer wanted a strong start to the 2018 ski season. Spending January traversing Japan’s north island of Hokkaido getting shacked in Japow seemed like a good bet. They spent half their time exploring in comfort in a curiously branded rental RV — “Corde Punks” — which gave them the ability to tour, ski, and rest up at any point in their adventure. And the rest of the time was spent accruing endless lift-served pow laps and sampling the amazing Japanese cuisine in and around Rusutsu Resort.
