The best powder skis are made to be your shepherd through the deepest snow on earth. But there’s more that goes into it than just width. From rockered profiles to carbon stringers, there’s an art to making a pow ski. It needs to surf well, intuitively flowing with your turn to help you barrel your way through another best day ever. Below are the 2027 powder skis that the FREESKIER crew is taking out when the conditions are deep, and the smiles are ear to ear.
K2 Mindbender 111

New season, new Mindbender. This storied line of skis gets a complete redesign for 2027. The 111 is the widest ski in the new collection, drawing on defining characteristics of the previous Mindbender Carbon and TI models. The carbon skis had a light, playful nature, while the TI variants delivered the powerful feel of hard-charging directional skis. The new Mindbender 111 lands between those two personalities, damp stability without the weight of metal thanks to K2's new "Dark Matter" tech.
Dynastar M-Free 112
Lengths 176, 183, 190 cm

Radius 22 m @ 190 cm
Consistently ranked as one of the most popular freeride chargers on the market, the M-Free 112 returns unchanged for 2027, save for the flashy new topsheet and base graphics. This ski is defined by its planted, robust feel, contrasted by a playful shape and profile that make it one of the more powerful freeride skis in the powder category.
Fischer Nothing
Lengths 176, 186, 196 cm
DIM 143-112-134 mm @ 196 cm
Radius 22 m @ 196 cm
Lengths 176, 186, 196 cm
DIM 143-112-134 mm @ 196 cm
Radius 22 m @ 196 cm
Fischer takes an interesting approach to marketing this ski, focusing more on the attitude than the specs. This added a touch of mystery, and certainly eliminated any preconceived notions, as we began testing it early last season. After spending significant time on it, we can confidently say it belongs in the powder category, defined by a mid-soft flex and playful but directional shape.
S/Lab QST Blank 112
Lengths 170, 178, 186, 192 cm
DIM 139-112-128 mm @ 186 cm
Radius 19 m @ 186 cm
Lengths 170, 178, 186, 192 cm
DIM 139-112-128 mm @ 186 cm
Radius 19 m @ 186 cm
After a full overhaul of the QST line in 2026, Salomon brings back an unaltered Blank, which continues to impress our fall-line-focused testers with its stout, directional shape. This is the widest in the collection, carrying the big mountain and powder responsibilities for all of the brand's freeride athletes.
Volkl Revolt 112
Lengths 178, 185, 192 cm
DIM 134-112-126 mm
Radius 17.4 m @ 178 cm
Lengths 178, 185, 192 cm
DIM 134-112-126 mm
Radius 17.4 m @ 178 cm
Drawing inspiration from surfboard design, the newest addition to Volkl's Revolt lineup is similar in width to the powerful Revolt 114 but provides a stark contrast in attitude. This ski is defined by its playful nature, favoring skiers who want to jib and surf the entire mountain on the deepest days.
Armada Antimatter 114
Lengths 181, 187, 193 cm
DIM 138-114-132 mm @ 187 cm
Radius 21 m @ 187 cm
Lengths 181, 187, 193 cm
DIM 138-114-132 mm @ 187 cm
Radius 21 m @ 187 cm
The Antimatter line has been making headlines since January, long before it ever landed in stores. If you watched Ben Richards dominate on the Freeride World Tour, you know what we're talking about. Replacing the brand's directionally inclined Declivity line, the 114 was designed to maintain a directional disposition while adding playful attributes that better align with Armada's freestyle roots.
Kastle Transcend 114
Lengths 165, 171, 177, 183, 189 cm
DIM 143-114-132 mm
Radius 20 m @ 185 cm
Lengths 165, 171, 177, 183, 189 cm
DIM 143-114-132 mm
Radius 20 m @ 185 cm
This ski represents a new era for Kastle, building skis for modern freeriders and the North American audience in mind. Both groups gravitate toward skis with forgiving tips and looser tails, which is appreciated in technical terrain. The Transcend 114 meets these needs without abandoning the race-influenced precision and stiff reputation that Kastle's freeride skis have gained over the years.
Atomic Maverick 115 CTI
Lengths 177, 185, 193 cm
DIM 140.5-115-129.5 mm @ 185 cm
Radius 18 m @ 185 cm
Lengths 177, 185, 193 cm
DIM 140.5-115-129.5 mm @ 185 cm
Radius 18 m @ 185 cm
Having gained many fans, the Maverick 115 returns with the same build this year. It was designed in collaboration with Atomic freeride athletes Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and Craig Murray. These two love making long, powerful turns down some of the most consequential terrain in the world, then floating a backflip off a wind lip, and the Maverick 115 CTI is the perfect tool for the job.
Blizzard Canvas 118
Lengths 172, 180, 188 cm
DIM 145-118-134 mm @ 180 cm

New from Blizzard, this ski holds its own when you open the throttle. Its playful shape and super energetic nature make it a modern freeride tool and mark Blizzard's entry into an entirely new category. Over three years and countless prototypes, the Canvas 118 was truly built from the ground up with the help of numerous Blizzard freeride athletes, from Piper Kunst to Connery Lundin.

Over the last few seasons, Nordica's Unleashed series has brought the race-heritage brand into the freeride arena, with much acclaim. The Unleashed 120 is the brand's marquee powder ski and after its debut last season, it continues to turn heads for its deep-snow performance and psychedelic topsheet.
