Nowadays, much of Colorado’s resort skiing is monopolized by massive companies, but it didn’t always used to be this way. The crew over at The Road West Traveled set out to ascend and descend Colorado’s abandoned resorts in search of adventure. What they found were the heartbreaking accounts of what independently-owned ski areas were like before the rise of resort conglomerates and climate change. Check out the trailer for the team’s first major film project, Abandoned, coming this fall.
