2026 Freeride World Tour Stop Three Officially Canceled

It's been a rollercoaster few days for the athletes on the Freeride World Tour. The Georgia Pro was canceled due todangerous avalanche conditions at the start of the original Weather Window on February 22. But it was soon announced that the competition would be restaged in Kühtai, Innsbruck, Austria. Riders jumped on planes and quickly prepared for the new venue, but it would all be in vain.

Today, the Tour announced that after much deliberation, they would not be able to run Stop Three in Austria after all, as warming temperatures and sunshine made for increasingly unstable conditions that were not conducive to FWT Pro competition standards.

"While significant work was done to prepare the venue, the current conditions do not allow for a competition that would be both fair for all athletes and aligned with the safety standards required at FWT Pro level," the press release from 2/27/26 read. "This decision was made after careful evaluation and was not taken lightly. Ensuring equal opportunity and appropriate conditions for performance, alongside athlete safety, remains our priority. We would like to sincerely thank the Georgia, Kühtai and Innsbruck teams and all staff involved for their commitment and hard work."

While it's an incredibly tough pill to swallow for the riders, safety is paramount and we commend the FWT Organizers for the courage to put time and money aside and focus on what's best for the skiers and boarders who put it all on the line every comp.

The good news is that the crew is now in Austria and can begin preparing for Stop Four in the legendary freeride mecca of Fieberbrunn. The weather window will be from March 5-10, so get ready for the final stop before the cut!
