Press Release: Happy birthday, Austrian Freeski Open! From March 7 to 11, 2012, the major freeski slopestyle event at Kitzsteinhorn Snowpark at Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria, will be held for the 10th time. Just in time for this anniversary, the IOC decided to include the slopestyle discipline into the 2014 Olympic programme. So there’s plenty of reason to celebrate for the participants, friends, and guests of the Austrian Freeski Open 2012.
Back in the days, the Austrian Freeski Open was one of the first freeski slopestyle events and one of the trailblazers of this discipline that has gained Olympic honour now. From March 7 to 11, numerous world-class freeskiers will battle for the crown of the Austrian Freeski Open. The international freeskiing elite will dig deep into their bag of tricks and rip the rails, kickers and special obstacles of the Kitzsteinhorn Snowpark. Head shaper Stefan Plattner and his crew will care for a perfectly prepared park.
