Team FREESKIER, along with its gaggle of talented testers and the team at Retallack Lodge, have been testing the ever lovin’ crap out of next year’s best outerwear this week in Interior British Columbia. And we couldn’t have asked for better conditions to fully examine each and every piece of brand new outerwear on-site. From raging snow storms with violent winds, to sunny bluebird skies, we’ve been able to gauge each garment’s warmth, breathability, waterproofing, durability, dexterity, pocket placement and more. Oh, and the skiing’s been damn amazing, too.

Come fall, the outerwear we deem to be the most worthy will make it into our annual Buyer’s Guide, dropping in September. To give you a sneak peek at what you might find in a few short months, we’ve included photos of a select few garments that should hold you over. Take a look, below, and be sure to subscribe to FREESKIER magazine to see them in full come September.

Backcountry.com collaborated with Flylow on a new line of touring-specific outerwear. Pictured here is the women’s Pfeifferhorn Jacket.
