Take the accuracy and power of a race ski, add off-piste domination and a lighter tip, and you’ll have the recipe for the Stormrider 102. The ski is built for precision and power, featuring Stöckli’s paulownia and Titanal core. The Titanal also doubles as a topsheet, not only improving durability, but also giving the ski a unique look.
This locomotive digs train tracks on groomers, yet the corduroy is just a side quest for the Stormrider. The stiff core composition blasts through tracked-out snow, delivering incredible stability and energy transmission on steep terrain. The 102-mm waist floats in the fresh and provides a stable platform in the hardpack. Many stiff, full-metal skis struggle to be damp and forgiving at slow speeds, but Stöckli added a lightweight polymer to the tip to reduce chatter. This addition not only smooths out the ride but also lowers the swing weight for better edge-to-edge performance.
A similar polymer is in the tail, adding flexibility and a touch of forgiveness through bumps and undesirable snow conditions. “Somehow, this ski turned me into a professional skier!” one of our testers noted. “I almost changed my name to Sven and moved to Switzerland. It’s super quick, edge-to-edge, and gives back more energy than you put into it on the apex of the carve.”
The Stöckli Stormrider 102 is designed for the advanced skier who loves to attack the groomers with precision and vigor but wants to take that performance all over the resort.
