Building on the brand’s freeride family of Unleashed skis, Nordica unveils the powder-eating machine 120 for 2026. Although these boats look massive underfoot, the maneuverability and snappy response time left our testers reeling with pure powder joy. The shape of the Unleashed 120 is reminiscent of Atomic’s Bent Chetler 120, but a Nordica build means there’s a bit more muscle, or should we say metal, under the hood.
The 120 deviates from the original Unleashed shape, as the rocker and taper points have been shifted closer to the true center of the ski. This means the widest point of the ski is closer to the binding, which makes it more efficient in keeping you on top of soft snow and easier to schmear without putting the ski on edge.
The Unleashed 120 gets a brand new construction—redesigned with an updated metal profile that brings a balance between playfulness and stability. A lightweight wood core is reinforced by carbon stringers and a single, narrow strip of metal gives this ski stability and dampness, while still enabling the ski to be schmeared.
We wouldn’t recommend making the Unleashed 120 your daily driver—the 108 handles hardpack and groomers with more consistency—but if you’re looking to add a true powder ski to your collection, you might kick yourself for overlooking Nordica’s newest offering. The Unleashed 120 is right at home on steep, deep big-mountain lines.
