The Best Ski Boots of 2026
Oct 1, 2025
Lightweight yet remarkably stiff, this boot has been meticulously engineered for skiers who spend most of their time beyond the resort boundary and logging hours on the skin track. Weighing in at just 1,285 grams (size 26.5), the Zero G Tour Pro is impressively light—even by today's touring standards. Despite its feathery weight, the boot includes an extremely heat-moldable liner and shell, allowing skiers to fine-tune the fit after purchase.
As with any quality touring boot, a reliable walk-mode lever is essential, and Tecnica nails it here. Functionally, this mechanism operates similarly to most touring systems, with a metal bar connected to a pull-string that toggles between walk and ski modes. In walk mode, pulling the string releases the bar and provides 60 degrees of frictionless motion, ideal for racking up miles on the uphill. When it’s time to descend, the bar snaps back into a locked position with a satisfying click. This system stands out because it connects at two points on the cuff, a small yet meaningful design choice that greatly increases the spine’s rigidity and overall downhill stiffness.Â
Underfoot, the boot features a full Vibram rubber sole that enhances traction and stability while bootpacking. However, those planning to use the Zero G Tour Pro with traditional alpine bindings should consult a local shop for compatibility.
As expected, Tecnica outfits the boot with four ultra-light magnesium buckles and tech inserts at the toe and heel, making it clear this model is meant for pin-binding users. The Zero G Tour Pro is a highly specialized backcountry tool, purpose-built for long tours and big lines. If you’re looking for something with more in-bounds versatility, check out the Tecnica Cochise line. But for skiers who live entirely in the backcountry, this boot is, quite literally, everything you could ever ask for.
Note: This is last year's model and may have limited availability.
