Most people remember the 2013 X Games Big Air final for its signature trick, Henrik Harlaut’s nosebutter triple cork . Kai Mahler placed second that night, but his memories of the event are bittersweet. Kai tore his ACL while successfully attempting a triple of his own. He was able to finish the competition, but quickly learned that the road to recovery would be long and difficult. A year later, Kai is fully healed and has his sights set on next month’s Olympic games.
