After a long tenure with Scott Skis, Parkin Costain is taking his talents to the Tecnica Group as he officially joined Nordica last week.

The Montana native is anything but under the radar at this point, starring in Teton Gravity Research films , dropping countless side projects , making Freeride World Tour appearances, and tackling viral lines . Still, he's rotated through ski sponsorships since 2021, working with both Black Diamond and Scott during that time. Now, he's found a match he thinks is perfect.

"Visiting both the Nordica ski and boot factory was an eye-opening experience," Costain told writer Alex Hunt on a recent trip to Nordica's headquarters in Italy. "It was the first time I had been inside a manufacturing facility like that. Witnessing the craftsmanship, the quality of materials and the level of precision that goes into every boot and ski blew my mind. It’s exactly what I want to be part of."

Costain stressed that Nordica's stellar lineup of skis and boots caught his eye, though that was only part of it. The culture of such a storied brand drew him in as well. Nordica, owned by the tight-knit Tecnica Group, runs a company built on history.

"Having grown up in a family of entrepreneurs, I’ve always had a lot of respect for family-owned businesses like Nordica," Costain continued. "It was one of the first questions I asked the team manager before signing the contract. The passion and energy that’s visible at Nordica was felt as soon as I touched down in Italy last week. It immediately felt like a natural fit."

Whether the partnership between Costain and Nordica will branch into a pro model plank, film projects or more is yet to be decided, but it's obvious the company is very excited to have such a well-known big mountain phenom on board.

Both Nordica's 2027 Enforcer and Unleashed lineups have received rave reviews, so it wouldn't be surprising if no major overhauls are needed under Costain's influence. That said, a ski with his touch on it would be something we'd be chomping at the bit to try. We're stoked to see where this collaboration leads in the future.
