Local knowledge led this team to ski dreamy lines in the Alps

January 25, 2017

Last winter, the Völkl Big Mountain Touring (BMT) crew—made up of skiers Stian Hagen, Austin Ross and Christina Lustenberger—set off on a European road trip in search of one thing: incredible backcountry lines. Considering the continent’s expansive mountain ranges, however, they needed help. So, the gang turned to Lucas Swieykowski in his hometown of St. Moritz, Switzerland and Nadine Wallner in Alberg, Austria to show them around.”

Their new friends did not let them down as they hiked and skied dreamy big-mountain lines and gnarly couloirs. Remember: let the locals be your guide (as long as they’re wiling).
