Moguls Competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics

February 17, 2010

Saturday marked the women"™s moguls event at Cypress Mountain, just outside of Vancouver. Heavy rain made it a challenging event, but the girls skied amazingly well and all four US team members advanced to the finals. US"™s Hannah Kearney claimed the gold medal (first US gold of the games), beating silver medalist Jenn Heil of Canada by almost a full point. US skier Shannon Bharke earned the bronze. It was a good day for team USA.

Sunday was men"™s moguls and the weather cooperated nicely. Team Canada took top honors at the men"™s contest with Alexandre Bilodeau earning the gold medal (the first Canadian to win an Olympic gold on Canadian soil). Australia"™s Dale Begg-Smith earned the silver, and Bryon Wilson of the US won the bronze.
