Over the past decade, Georgia has soared into the minds of skiers everywhere. Legends of massive lines, towering peaks and snorkle-deep snow have circulated for years, with the eastern European country gaining more notoriety every year. Since the Freeride World Tour began hosting an annual stop at Tetnuldi Resort, exposure around Georgia's stellar freeride terrain has skyrocketed.

With his ear to the streets, Nikolai Schirmer picked up these rumors that had been spreading like wildfire. Last year, he decided it was time to test the waters. But a ski trip is never a straight path, especially in an ex-Soviet bloc state miles deep into the Caucasus Mountains.

Along with Sam Favret and Lucas Wachs, Schirmer mapped out what he was hoping would be a relatively easy ski trip: a proper adventure filled with deep pow, friendly faces and huge mountains ready to be explored. While the crew ended up encountering all of the above, there were a few obstacles thrown into the mix. But what's a good adventure without challenges?

From power blackouts to illnesses, car troubles to avalanche danger, the problems continued to mount for this intrepid group. They pushed on and managed to make the most of the journey, stacking face shots and hitting kickers whenever possible, never caught without a smile.

With nothing guiding them but a call from a mysterious lady of the mountains, Nikolai Schirmer, Lucas Wachs and Sam Favret set off to an abandoned town in the Caucasus ranges of Georgia. At the end of the road, winter begins.
