"The Peter Pan of Skiing" will change your perspective on everything

January 10, 2017

No matter how old you are, skiing is an activity that conveys a sense of youth. And that fact rings incredibly true for John Shocklee, a 51-year-old mountain guide in Silverton, Colorado, who is the subject of YETI Coolers’ most recent short film.

Shocklee is one of the least materialistic people you could possibly imagine. He lives in a 200-something square foot cabin, only possesses the things he needs and greatly enjoys the little things in life—like ripping mega-deep powder between Colorado and Alaska every year. And, just like materialistic items and money, Shocklee doesn’t think much of age; despite always being one of the oldest dudes out in the backcountry, he feels better than ever, earning him the apt title of “The Peter Pan of Skiing.” Props to YETI and company for putting together this visually-pleasing and inspiring project.
