Close your eyes. It’s 2010. Cody Townsend is skiing in the orange pants. Henrik Windstedt is skiing in the green pants. The snow has been relentlessly falling in Alaska for weeks, and the Matchstick Productions crew has timed the end of the storm just right, rolling into town as the last flakes fall and the sky begins to turn blue.
Sounds like a fever dream? No dear reader, that’s reality in the classic film “The Way I See It” from the maestro’s at MSP Films. This is classic ski movie lore, when the segments had you laughing one second and cheering on big lines the next. We’re not saying ski movies have gone downhill. In fact, today’s films are some of our favorites, but there’s an undeniable allure here that we’d be foolish to ignore. Dive into this throwback and rejoice.
From YouTube:
Cody Townsend and Henrik Windstedt bring their fast-paced, fearless approach to Alaska’s Chugach Range in their segment of Matchstick’s 2010 film ‘The Way I See It’. Known for their persistent cliff hunting and gnarly line choices, these two push the limits with bold drops and rapid descents. Their combination of speed, precision, and a hunger for big airs makes this segment a standout example of big mountain skiing at its finest.
