Many skiers step aside as April rolls around, hanging up the towel in hopes of deeper days. But little do they know that the best part of ski season is just beginning. Yeah, we said it. Freezing your hands off and trenching through pow is incredible, but lapping the park in a hoodie as the sun beams down on you and your crew? That might take the cake.
This spring, many resorts are struggling to keep the season alive with low snow totals plaguing the American West. That being said, there are still several resorts keeping the stoke alive, and if you're mapping out a spring mission to find some metal and jumps, we've got you covered. All spring parks are great, but not all spring parks are created equal.
Behold, FREESKIER's top spring park builds in North America for spring 2026. These resorts are churning out architectural marvels in the form of snow, and it's time to sample the goods.
5) Palisades Tahoe
Palisades Tahoe Resort, California
No spring skiing list is complete without Palisades Tahoe. The self-proclaimed Spring Skiing Capital just got a big refresh after an early-April storm dropped two feet on the upper mountain. The Gold Coast Park is firing, with a solid jump line flowing into a hip, rail features and more. Get it while you can!
4) Big Sky
Big Sky Resort, Montana
Is Big Sky the most slept-on park in America? It's very possible. Beneath Lone Peak lies a robust selection of blue steel, creatively laid out in a way that encourages style and creative line selection. Over the last few days, the mountain has seen 20 inches of snow, keeping hopes alive for a season that will last through the end of the month. Be sure to check out the latest Jiberish Directors' Cut for proof of the hype!
3) Woodward Copper
Copper Mountain, Colorado
Tried and true, Woodward Copper always comes through no matter the month. But in the springtime, the seemingly endless park truly comes alive. Nestled in Colorado's I-70 corridor at 10,000 feet above sea level, the mountain usually holds snow well into April, even during lackluster winters like this one. With concerts on deck, good weather in the forecast, and a new 100-foot Tubezilla, Woodward Copper is a spring paradise.
2) Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia
We've talked a lot about the low-tide winter, but for most of British Columbia, that has not been the case. Canada has seen great snow totals this year, with Whistler still riding like it's mid-season on the upper mountain. The park is large and sculpted to perfection, with the Whistler Freeride Team hosting Noram Cup training just the other day. Temps are supposed to stay in the mid-30s for the near future, so there's no telling when the season will end in the North.
1) Mammoth Unbound
Mammoth Mountain, California
Mammoth Unbound might be the most recognizable park in the world, with the fabled pink rails having been cemented into skiers' minds. As of 4/3/26, the main park is boasting a new bottom jump section. In total, Disco Playground, Forest Trail, South Park, and Main Park boast a combined 13 jumps, 60+ jibs, and 1 mini pipe. Mammoth has announced it will be open for riding through Memorial Day Weekend, meaning there's still two months of skiing to be had!
