Who held you between your legs when you were learning how to pizza? Who fixed your flat tire on your bike? Who held you when you were too tired to finish a trail? And who cast your line for you when you were too small to do it yourself?Â
Your dad.Â
Fathers Day is a chance to return the favor - or at least show a little appreciation for all those years of support. It can be a daunting task finding a gift for Dad’s as they can be hard to shop for. If “I don’t need anything,” or “I’ll be happy with whatever,” sounds familiar, we’ve got you covered.Â
From mountain adventures to grilling in the backyard, we have all the outdoor Dads covered in FREESKIER's Fathers Day 2026 Gear Round-Up. We’ve broken down each product for you below where you’ll find links to each item as well as prices.Â
1. Kulkea - KÄYDÄ® Travel Backpack 44L
On ski trips, dads tend to be the ones who always end up carrying the extra items no one else wants to, especially if he's a girl dad. So why not give your dad a break and give him a bag that is designed to carry the load. Kulkea’s Travel Backpack is a multi-purpose ski boot backpack. The bag opens like a suitcase, allowing easy access to all items. There is one large pocket for ski boots and another smaller pocket for clothing and toiletry essentials. The back of the pack has a smaller pocket for a computer so Dad can still check his work emails even if he’s on the mountain. For convenience, the bag comes with an attachable helmet pocket in front so Dad can be completely hands-free and only have to worry about his skis… and, of course, the rest of the family's skis too.Â
2. Gravity Grabber - Ski RackÂ
Few things make dad happier than seeing a nice, clean, organized garage, and this gift will help make your dad reach that level of happiness. Gravity Grabber is a ski rack that can attach to any surface, such as a wall or even the side of your car. The slots the skis go into suspend them off the ground while keeping them secure. So instead of building up a pile of skis in the garage or flinching every time skis fall to the ground, get your Dad a Gravity Grabber so he can feel at ease about the family's ski equipment and the garage.Â
3. Benchmade - Station Knife
Dad already has a grill, but what he doesn’t have is a knife worthy of it. The Benchmade Station is a 5.97” fixed blade built from the same high-grade American steel used in professional cutlery. So when Dad has his grilling apron on, he’ll feel even more confident about his cooking as the wide clip-point shape of the knife moves seamlessly through those racks of ribs that everyone can’t wait to dig into. But grilling for people can get hectic and messy fast, not to worry though, as the OD Green handle stays grippy even when things like grease and moisture get in the way. Whether he’s grilling at home or at a tailgate, this knife will become a necessity for Dad’s grill set.Â
4. Salomon - XA Pro 3D V9 Gore-Tex Trail Shoe
Finding a shoe that performs equally well on trail runs and day hikes can be hard to find, but Salomon's XA Pro 3D V9 Gore-Tex shoe has found a way to do both. Whether Dad is logging miles on local trails or heading to the mountains for a family hike, the All-Terrain contaGRIP feature on the soles provides stability wherever Dad decides to adventure. Salomon also updated the 3D Advanced Chassis to optimize motion control on uneven terrain, ensuring a sure foot on any trail without sacrificing comfort. The shoe comes in multiple colors, so if Dad likes a pop of color, they have it, or if he prefers a solid black shoe, it's there.Â
5. Stio - OPR Shorts
For dad’s who spend their weekends pedaling up climbs and charging down singletracks, Stio’s OPR Shorts are the perfect match. These shorts are designed for mountain bikers and have been revamped with more sustainable materials made from end-of-life fishing nets. This does not take away from the integrity of the shorts, though. The fabric is still stretchy and moisture-wicking, so these shorts can be worn in all environments and by all riders. So whether Dad is chasing personal records or just enjoying a casual ride, these shorts will keep up with his adventure.Â
6. Free Fly - Bamboo Lightweight HoodieÂ
Now, this is a hoodie Dad will actually wear every single day, not just on weekends. The hoodie is made from a bamboo-blend material that feels softer than cotton, and naturally resists odor without any chemical treatment. The fabric is breathable, so it works well as a sun layer even on the hottest day in the middle of summer or as a light layer on a cool summer morning. The crossover hood and thumbholes give it the perfect amount of technical detail to earn its place on the river or a trail while still being adaptable for a farmers' market outing.Â
7. Line - Après Bootie 1.0
There are many different ski dad archetypes, and these Line booties are for the resort dad. He likes to get his runs in early, but once that early-afternoon Après time hits, he’s putting the booties on and grabbing an Aperol spritz. Not only do these shoes bring the comfort that every Après lover wants, but they also offer the convenience. A new collapsible heel pocket feature allows for easy entry, because the last thing someone wants to do after pulling off a ski boot is to struggle to get on their comfy shoe. The brand Line also carries a certain steez in the ski world, so your dad can stay up with the ski trends without even realizing it.Â
8. Vuarnet - Racing 05 Sunglasses
Every dad needs a signature shade that completes their look. Whether they're casting lines, hiking a favorite trail, or playing catch in the backyard, Vuarnet's Racing 05 sunglasses with rubber grips on the temple tips are up for the challenge. These glasses are built for long days spent in the sun and the Vuarnet mineral lense in base 9 provide the clarity and protection Dad needs against the sun’s rays, so he never misses a catch or landing. Performance aside, these Dad shades provide style as well, so if the family wants to go for a walk around town, he won’t feel out of place.Â
9. Gordini - Winhill Sock
A good day on the mountain starts with comfortable feet and Gordini’s Winhill socks will provide Dad with that level of comfort every skier wants. This mid-weight ski sock has a padded shin panel that lets Dad ski aggressively without getting that shin pain later in the day. The heel pocket, combined with ankle protection, provides Dad with the security he needs to find his edge and carve down groomers all day long. Ski equipment is already uncomfortable for anybody, no matter how tough they may act, so finding apparel that helps to ease that discomfort will help make ski days a lot more enjoyable for Dad.
10. Therm-ic - Boot Dryer
Imagine it’s day two of your ski trip, and you go to put on your ski boots in the morning, only to find they're still wet and cold from yesterday. It’s an unpleasant way to start the morning. Unfortunately, having wet ski boots is part of the sport, but there is a way to help prevent it. Therm-ic’s boot dryer is portable and can be brought on any ski trip as long as there's an outlet nearby. Designed to dry moisture in just a few hours, it helps ensure boots are warm, dry and ready for another day on the mountain. So if it’s a really cold, wet day, your dad could take some morning laps, take a break to dry his boots, then go back out for some afternoon laps in boots that are actually enjoyable to ski in.Â
11. Leatherman - Skeletool
A multi-tool handy Leatherman can be used in more situations than one may expect. Dads can always find an excuse to use a tool on a Leatherman, whether that's fishing, camping, hiking, or skiing they can become the hero of the day quickly with this tool. What dad doesn’t like being a hero? Leatherman’s Skeletool packs a surprising amount of functionality and comes with a stainless steel knife, pliers, bit driver, and wire cutters, so any situation has a solution. For skiing, if you know how to adjust DIN correctly, the bit driver can come in handy on the slopes for adjusting small gear issues that could turn into bigger problems fast. No matter what situation Dad finds himself in, he will be reaching for his leatherman to come to the rescue.Â
12. The Man Behind The Map - Coffee Table Book
All those beautifully hand-painted ski maps that your dad studies as if he has a test on them were probably painted by the legendary James Niehues. For four decades, Niehues has painted over 200 ski maps for famous resorts like Winter Park, Park City, Jackson Hole, and more. With this gift, Dad can look at all his favorite resort maps in just one book instead of having to look them up individually and maybe even be inspired to pick up a cartography hobby. Not to mention for the Moms, it looks pretty good as a coffee table book. Who knew Dad decor could make Mom happy, too.
While we have no shame ordering things online here, supporting local stores is always something we stand behind here at FREESKIER. Many local outdoor stores most likely carry some of the items we listed above and may even have some off-season or in-season deals. Some local stores we love in Colorado are Powder7, Boone Mountain Sports, and Bentgate Mountaineering. Local stores also have little knick-naks that can be a fun addition for any Fathers Day gift or gifts. And for all our last-minute shoppers and procrastinators, Father's Day is Sunday, June 21 so get after it!
