You know it's summer when the hike park at Woodward Copper is up and running. Every winter, Colorado's Copper Mountain stockpiles snow for both the Woodward summer camps and the legendary hike park. The park crew here is always cooking up some of our favorite action from around the country, and this year is no exception.
While the summer camp park builds are always fantastic, the hike park can boast an enjoyable, but less grand setup. It's just the nature of the beast when you have to relegate a finite amount of rails and, of course, snow across two different builds. The team truly went all out this year, though, offering 13 unique jib features and one hip/jump in the hike park.
This includes tubes, rails, boxes, transfer features and more. Plus, new hours have been unveiled: the park is open Thursday - Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. It's a break from the past weekend-only operations and allows riders to come score laps with a more flexible schedule.
A season pass is just $249 and gets you unlimited riding while conditions last. If you're only stopping through on a road trip, snag a day ticket for $25. Meet some talented skiers, get your tan on and slide metal in June. It doesn't get any better. Check out a few shots from the first few days of summer operations below.
